This project contains a welding warehouse which is situated in the northern part of Amsterdam. On the basis of the provisional layout of the usable functions as well as the requirements of the urban planning ( SpvE+), the current building will be renovated both from the inside and outside. With this renovation the housing of the cultural function of TEMP will be realized. To make the exploitation costs of the building competitive, the use of catering services, offices, stores and studio’s will be added in the layout. This renovation is focused on achieving a basis from which regulated maintenance will take place.

Temporary Contemporary Amsterdam aims to kick-start a new artistic hotspot in the
area now called NDSM-Wharf at the north side of the river “IJ”, the body of water that
forms Amsterdam’s waterfront.
